Hi! My name Katelyn Strand. I earned my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University and have over 3 years of experience providing therapy to clients recovering from trauma and abuse, healing from depression and anxiety, and wanting to increase their skills use. I earned my Bachelor's in Education and worked for a couple years in the special education setting of a middle school. I love drawing on my education background with clients and families to teach new skills and support families as they navigate the education system as well. I offer in person appointments in Westerville, OH and telehealth appointments from anywhere in Ohio. At this time I have availability for bi-weekly appointments for morning or mid-day times. If you are interested in evening times, feel free to reach out by text or phone call at 614-285-4827, if you would like to be put on a wait-list. I am honored you would consider me for your therapy!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will gather information about your current symptoms and challenges you are facing. I will ask about your goals for therapy and why you are interested in services at this time. I will also want to understand about your childhood, family history, work and education history, and other barriers and challenges you have faced. Understanding more about your history and what has led you to therapy will help me understand the goals and path forward for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I use a calm and empathetic approach to ensure that clients feel heard and understood and also validated in their experiences. By listening intently and providing care and support, I am also able to gently challenge clients where needed in order to support them in their growth and ability to manage their problems.
