Hi! I'm Maura, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in MA. In 2017, I obtained my master's degree in mental health counseling with a focus on addiction and trauma studies. Over the last decade, I have been working with clients in a variety of mental health settings including psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient case management and psychiatric emergency services. I'm a big advocate of maintaining your mind-body-soul balance and specifically identifying what that looks like in each of our lives. I am a trauma informed, person-centered, eclectic counselor eager to support those transitioning through life's challenges. Whether you're going through something tragic or something magic, I'm here to support you in identifying your highest path to move forward into a successful and balanced future!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll spend time getting acquainted and begin to discuss the reasons you decided to come to therapy. We’ll discuss the challenges and issues you’re facing and any concerns you may have regarding the therapeutic process. From there, if we feel the relationship is a good fit, we’ll begin to develop your treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a former crisis counselor, I found my greatest strength is my ability to empathize and build positive relationships with clients to meet goals in a reasonable time frame. I’m passionate about helping others who feel stuck and want to find their way to their best self, their highest path. I’m open to a variety of therapeutic methods and will tailor our sessions to your unique needs based on your life perspectives, challenges and aspirations. I'm open-minded, always up for a new perspective and I genuinely enjoy helping others solve problems.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I have a person-centered approach, meeting my clients where they're at, working with them to identify how their strengths can support them in meeting treatment goals. I often utilize CBT and Solution Focused interventions with clients, however this is completely dependent on the client and what treatment modality works best for them and their current needs. Due to using a variety of treatment methods based on individual needs of clients, I refer to myself as an eclectic therapist.
