My greatest passion is helping clients who are dealing with relationship problems, codependency issues, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, and having a pattern of staying in unhealthy relationships. I have helped many clients (men and women) who struggle in these areas, learn how they got to this place. I can help you realize how you arrived at this place. We can then work together to help you create and maintain healthy boundaries while increasing self-esteem, self-confidence, and enjoying healthier relationships. This work is very near and dear to my heart.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and at ease and let you set the pace. I understand it can be very hard to share such personal issues with someone new. If you are not ready to share something in the beginning that is completely ok. You are in charge. The first session is mostly learning about the issues that bring you to therapy, what you would like to see change and background information about your life and relationships.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Perhaps my greatest strength as a therapist is my past life experiences, having dealt with the challenges of anxiety and relationship issues, overcoming codependency, and learning to create and maintain healthy boundaries. I have reached a place in my life where I am more at peace, and am grateful I can draw on these experiences to help my clients. Many clients have found themselves more comfortable working with me because I can relate to their struggles. I look forward to meeting with you, and being a support to help you grow and produce lasting change in your life!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help show you how your thinking affects your mood. I will help you to learn to think in a less negative way about yourself and your life. We will learn together a better understanding on how thinking negatively is a habit that, like any other habit, can be broken.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use this approach, alone or in combination with other types of therapy, to help you if you're dealing with anxiety and depression as well as grief or other difficult circumstances, such as abuse, breakups, professional anxiety, or family stressors.

Christian Counseling

I have helped clients with all types of faith and many without. For many of us faith can be one of our greatest strengths in times of trouble. I can incorporate your faith into all treatment techniques, to help understand and cope with these challenges. I am here to help and can discuss faith-related matters openly and without judgment. I also understand that many people have had poor experiences with faith/religion in the past, especially early in life. I can relate to these frustrations and help you work through unresolved feelings or past hurt.
