Prior to private practice, I worked in outpatient therapy clinics, community mental health agencies, and hospital clinics. I have my Masters of Social Work degree and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults through individual and family therapy modalities. When I am not providing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my pets, collecting way too many books, learning about new hobbies (my recent quest is keeping plants alive), and googling places to see the best sunsets.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

For our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and making a plan for how therapy can help to achieve the life you desire. I will support you in being able to share about your life and the challenges you face on a day-to-day basis. There is absolutely no pressure in knowing where to start during the first session, we will work on that together. I have been told by clients that the first session with me is casual, gentle, and comforting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

A strength of mine is bringing my genuine self into each and every therapy session. I believe connections are at the heart of human experiences and therapy is another connection that can lead you to exactly where you want to be in life. This process is about you and for you, so you deserve to work with a therapist that will show up as themselves every time to help make the work we will do together not feel like work. We’ve all seen the cliché therapists on TV. The ones who smile, nod, then say things like “hmmm interesting” or “and how does that make you feel?” I am not that cliché therapist. Sure, I will smile, nod, and may say those things, but I will also roll up my sleeves and dive in right alongside you. You don’t have to go through this alone, I will be with you every step of the way.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Anxiety and stress are typically associated with thoughts that can be debilitating and interrupt your day-to-day. In sessions, we can use CBT skills to identify specific thoughts contributing to anxiety or stress, reframe difficult thinking patterns, and connect thoughts to actions or responses.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP has been shown to be an optimal treatment for OCD. We will work together as a team to create a hierarchy of exposures in order to practice reducing anxiety. As scary as this sounds, I will be alongside you every step of the way.
