Hi my name's Chris, I graduated with my MS in Counseling Psychology from Angelo State University in the small town of San Angelo, Texas. I completed practicum at a center where I worked with addiction, though I prefer the term Dependence. I've worked extensively with couples and the MHID population with a heavy focus on trauma informed care, anxiety, and depression.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I expect all of the people who partner with me for therapy to show up with an open mind and a desire to grow. Communication is a huge part of what we will work on, in fact it's the centerpiece of my approach. You can expect humor, affirmation, and accountability, because those are what people who want to see you grow provide.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I am not a one size fits all therapist, we will know probably by the end of the first session if we are going to be a good fit, I believe that is my strength. I will be 100% authentic with you and I will not pull my proverbial punches. We are here to do work if we need to take a break from the work we can do that 100%, but it is your job to communicate with me where you are at each session and what your goals for the session are if you can do that, we will have an incredibly successful partnership.
