I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years' experience working in community mental health prior to going into private practice in 2018. I have over a decade of experience working with those of all ages, genders and ethnicities who struggle with a wide range of mental health conditions. I have seen firsthand how deeply therapy can impact someone's life and I am grateful to be a part of that journey with you. We will navigate your challenges, and treatment goals together. You do not have to do this alone, let's begin on this journey together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then talk about the specific challenges you're facing that lead you to seek help. I strongly believe in a person centered and holistic approach to therapy. Each one of your is unique and I tailor my therapeutic interventions to your specific needs and goals. We will collaboratively explore your experiences, thoughts and emotions and then work together to develop effective strategies for managing your concerns, fostering personal growth and improving your overall well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in private practice for the past 5 years, I've learned many of the skills taught in DBT and have become very knowledgeable in helping you as the client practice and implement the skills into your daily life. I to use the skills in my day to day life. My aim is to help you embrace your strengths, foster self-compassion, and cultivate a sense of empowerment to create the fulfilling life you deserve. I am extremely skilled at balancing acceptance and pushing you for change.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am intensely trained in DBT and at my previous practice I was a part of a DBT program for the past 5 years. If you have graduated a DBT program or are looking to learn the skills taught in DBT in an individual setting that's where I can help. DBT can benefit anyone but primarily helps those struggling with regulating emotions, anxiety, ADHD or impulse control disorders, or those that have difficulty in their relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It has helped many clients challenge their reoccurring thoughts and more effectively manage their anxiety. I use CBT to hel p you recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Then we use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Strength-Based

In recent years I have started incorporating strength-based therapy into my practice for those clients that it fits well with. Strength based therapy is very client centered and involved. Treatment is individualized to your needs, and goals with my expert guidance.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Due to my experience and knowledge of DBT, and being that mindfulness is the core skill in DBT I incorporate mindfulness into all of my therapy sessions. Mindfulness-based therapy is a type of psychotherapy that combines cognitive therapy, meditation, and mindfulness.
