I am a licensed clinical professional counselor [LCPC] and a licensed marriage and family therapist [LMFT] in Illinois with over 35 years of experience. I have worked with multiple populations in a variety of settings, helping clients with addictions, trauma and abuse recovery, chronic mental illness, anger management, and depression. I work with my clients to create an safe environment sharing without fear of judgment. If I feel I cannot provide the type of assistance you need or want, I will work with you to locate a therapist who specializes in the area you need help in. I currently have openings during the day on Wednesdays for video sessions. If you do what you did, you will get what you got; if you don’t change something, nothing will change. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I congratulate you for getting started! What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy a diversity of clients from varied backgrounds. In my opinion, all therapy is to a greater or lesser degree cross-cultural as cultural norms are changing rapidly, possibly as rapidly as every 5 years, and families are more or less cultures unto themselves. The developmental challenges each person faces are similar, but they are encountered in each person's individualized culture. While I have spent a large part of my career working with perpetrators all the way from DUI offenders to Federal probation clients [both pre-trial and post incarceration], I enjoy working with motivated voluntary clients as well.
