Hi, My name is Cindy and I am a LPC in Texas. I graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University. I have been practicing for 10 years and have worked with teens, adults and older individuals. I am very blessed and passionate to be given the opportunity to work with many people from all different backgrounds and circumstances that bring them to therapy. I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will gather information and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. We will set goals and develop a treatment plan. This session is also used to begin developing a therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the past 10 years of working with many individual and diagnoses, (including personality disorders, I find that one of my greatest strengths as a provider is listening to what you are saying. I want you to feel heard, I want you to feel safe and i want you to feel comfortable. I love helping people acquire these feelings while working with them.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have had success using the DBT method with trauma care clients. This modality is also great with clients that have attachment and relationship issues. I am Certified in Dialectical Behavior therapy. It teaches the client to manage triggers from trauma and how to live a life that does recognize actual perceptions instead of perceived perceptions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy in session where we work on self-esteem issues, relationship issues, negative thinking issues where client learns the CBT cycle and how to manage their thoughts, changing them from negative to positive.

Eclectic

This is a method I use for most clients once the treatment plan is created and goals are set. I have used this since 2014 with great success. It is a blend on methods and the use of different methods depending on the client that I am working with: what their goals are, their individual personality and why they are seeking therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This theory is amazing as it emphasizes each individual's understanding, learning style and pace at which they work. I use this with all clients as during sessions, my focus is solely on that individual promoting motivation, emphasizing they strengths and developing their weaknesses.

Mind-body approach

It is my belief that the mind, body and soul all work together. Having knowledge of how each part of our system works based on how we care for each part. It is amazing information. I have used this with many clients successfully by promoting self-awareness, teaching self-awareness and learning to listen to your body.
