Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. i have 6 and a half years experience. I graduated with my Master's Degree in Social at at the University of Kansas in 2017. Since graduation I have worked in corrections with incarcerated youth and have worked inpatient acute care with at risk youth. I also have experience working with juveniles diagnosed with autism. Throughout my practice my primary focus has been on trauma, depression/anxiety, and anger.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions with me are about a prospective client and I deciding if we are a good fit. I am a firm believer in the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Often times getting to know one another begins with you the client identifying or exploring your need for therapy followed by my determining if your need is within my scope of practice. Afterward, I typically discuss my background and give you opportunity to ask about my experiences and decide if you would like to work with me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to ensure a client feels heard and my outside the box thinking which allows for clients to be full participants in their therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist who has used CBT to help clients with a wide range of issues to include anxiety and depression, autism, navigating sexual identity, anger, and more. My primary focus is on helping clients develop a more positive narrative as it relates to self concept with the intention of identifying otherwise unperceived choices and outcomes. I am also a trauma informed therapist and have helped clients with traumatic experiences develop positive strengths based narratives to help them regain a sense of empowerment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have utilized a mindfulness based approach to help reactive clients create space in which to be present and find productive ways to engage with stressful situations.
