I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with more than 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, motivation, self-esteem, confidence & coping with life changes. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will typically begin with brief introductions and what brought you to seek assistance. This gives me a sense of who you are and your motivation for change. This will assist me in creating a plan for us to work through in follow-up session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now, and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I find a large portion of my clients are young adults and/or professionals eager to improve areas in their lives when they find themselves overwhelmed and anxious of change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses specifically on a person's thoughts and identifies problematic patterns of negative thinking that lead to unhealthy interpretations of the a person's self and the world. Once these patterns are identified, We can work to restructure these ideas to change how you may interpret these thoughts and situations, lessen negative emotions, and improve sense of self. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) offers a way to reexamine memories and the meaning assigned to them with the aim of lessening their impact in the present.

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy emphasizes unconditional acceptance and free expression. Client-centered counseling focuses on a person's ability to resolve their own issues by talking through them. With humanistic therapy, clients are encouraged to openly express what is affecting them as they work to achieve meaning, self-actualization, and understanding of their emotions.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. The tenet is that this focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience, and change your worldview to one that is more positive.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

With DBT strong educational component designed to provide skills for managing intense emotions and negotiating social relationships. DBT acknowledges the need for change through acceptance of situations and recognizes difficult feelings without having to get caught up in them. I help patients understand and accept that thought is an inherently messy process.
