Hi, I'm Cinthya! Here’s a few things I believe that I emphasize with my clients. 1. Perfectionism doesn’t exist. 2. You are stronger and more resilient than you think, AND give yourself credit for. 3. No one has lived your life for you. No one else really knows your life. Only you know your truth. 4. Everyone is capable of attaining their goals and finding that peace in their life they deserve. 5. It takes a lot of courage to admit we even need help sometimes, let alone take the steps to find it. 6. Change begins with awareness. 7. There are many ways to see the same thing, so challenge your perspective. 8. It’s okay to make mistakes. You’re human. 9. Emotions are valid even if they’re “wrong.” It’s what you do with them that really matters. That said, I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. I am here to help you figure out what you want out of your life and takes steps to get there. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions are about exploring your immediate concerns and making sure we are a good fit. We discussed any questions or concerns about therapy in general, how to address emergencies, and expectations of therapy overall.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I’ll describe my strengths as it relates to my “style” as a therapist. I hope to establish a safe space for you so you may talk freely and be yourself. I strive to show empathy by listening and making sure I understand where you’re coming from. To be frank, I would also say I'm a bit unorthodox— unorthodox in the sense that I do not like being rigid and engaging in the ”solum therapist trope.” I do understand my approach may not be -the- approach for all, and that is perfectly fine. My reason for this approach is that it is congruent to who I am as a person and what I believe, if given the choice, most would prefer. I’d prefer speaking to a responsive person as opposed to the tv stereotype of the “silent therapist”. We’re not just here to chat. We’re here to process and you will get feedback— if that’s what you want. It can be hard enough talking to a stranger about your problems as it is! I only wish to help in making that easier. I would hope to help others look at themselves without judgment and negativity, learn how to challenge negative/self-defeating thoughts, and, hopefully, take away from our sessions some positivity and encouragement. We must learn how to regard ourselves with the same grace when often give others.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I feel I work most effectively with adults, ranging from young adulthood to geriatric.
