Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Shari has experience working with victims of domestic violence and mental health issues such as depression and personality disorders. Experience providing individual, couple, group, and family therapy, aimed at improving interpersonal relationships. Shari has facilitated relapse prevention and parenting groups. She has excellent outcomes of parents regaining custody of their children. My experience in building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients helps them feel safe and heard.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I act as a facilitator, guiding you toward self-awareness. I refrain from giving direct advice or solutions. Instead, I empower you to explore your feelings and thoughts independently and tap into your inner resources.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I mostly use this therapy method for short-term therapy that aims to improve couple relationships by rekindling the physical and emotional bond that can get sacrificed to disappointment in a partner and alienation from them, a common dynamic in distressed couples.

Faith based therapy

Many people for whom spirituality or religion plays a major role in their lives may benefit from this type of counseling. Faith-based therapy can help you lean into your values to make decisions, understand suffering, set priorities, and create purpose and meaning in their lives. Sometimes your values in life can become distorted and you may need to explore those values to see if it applies to your life today.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, MBCT, is a modified form of cognitive therapy that incorporates mindfulness practices that include present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises. This therapy was formulated to address depression, but can also help reduce anxiety.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps you identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the nature of irrational and unproductive feelings, and replace them with healthier, more productive beliefs.
