Life is full of hills and valleys. There are times when we reach a place in our life and realize that it's just not ok getting through the day. Our minds are full of chatter (often not the kindest comments), our bodies lack sleep, and getting through the day has been a challenge. No matter what you are feeling, or what you have been told, you are not alone, and there is hope. Whether you struggle with anxiety, grief, trauma or depression-I am here to walk along side you. My approach is holistic in nature, non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate. I walk along side you as we explore your thoughts and feelings, to help better understand yourself, and find ways to create healthy alternatives as you move forward. My goal is to not only create a safe space for you, but to also empower you as you develop the insight, curiosity, and courage to create the life you want.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will begin to get to know one another. I want to learn what led you to counseling and what you are hoping to get out of it. My goal is to create a safe space for you where you can ask me questions and see that we are in this together-that you are not alone.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strengths are that I am a warm, hopeful, genuine and honest therapist. One who takes the time to listen and build a deep connection while moving through difficult issues.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I will often incorporate ACT and mindfulness-based therapy in helping to encourage you to not shy away from your thoughts and feelings. As overwhelming as they may seem at times, using the tools of ACT helps you to be present with your thoughts and feelings-seeing them as they are and moving through them, not against them. This enables you to have a clearer perspective, identifying your key values and making new healthier choices moving forward.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When using CBT, we will look at how you are perceiving life. We will explore thoughts that are distressing and how they are affecting your life. Your thoughts and perceptions influence the way you feel and behave-and I will work with you to learn how to recognize these distortions and reevaluate them in a healthy way as you move forward.

Grief Therapy

Grief should not be a solo journey. Everyone grieves differently, and I respect and honor your every step. Grief is often deemed as a loss of a loved one (partner, friend, family member, pet), however it is also divorce, long term illness, and loss of employment to name a few. There is no time line to grief, we each move at a different pace, and that is ok. I am honored to hold space with those who grieve, and while I do not have the ability to take grief away, I am present, caring, and offer you a place to just "be."
