Hello, I'm Jay. I like to keep a flexible approach with my clients since every individual case is unique. Exploring relationships and how to build healthy ones (especially the relationship with one’s self) is typically a top priority in our sessions. Also, identifying and developing your values will be an important aspect of our work together. I’m a generalist and enjoy working with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns. I'm confident we can find ways to create balance in your life and manage the ongoing stressors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first few sessions are usually devoted to understanding the most important things in your life, which are your values. Becoming aware of the status of your values will lead us to setting goals to develop them. Then we want to become aware of what is currently stopping you moving forward with your values. This is the macro strategy that will be present throughout our sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapy is my commitment to my clients growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have doctoral level training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and 14 years of experience applying in clinical settings. CBT will be used as a tool that can be applied to various situations in life. This therapy focuses mainly on intervening on a cognitive level, which will effect how we feel and our feelings effect our behavior.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have doctoral level training in ACT and 14 years of experience applying it in clinical settings. ACT will be used in our sessions as the main guide for identifying your values and setting up goals to develop them. One of the main goals of ACT is to develop you into a psychologically flexible being human.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

PCT will be used to develop and maintain an authentic therapeutic relationship, which has been shown to be the most important single factor for attaining positive outcomes in therapy.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have doctoral level training in SFBT and 14 years of experience applying it in clinical settings. SFBT will be used as a tool to create specific goals for you to pursue. This method is a pragmatic, future focused approach where we will achieve your goals by building on your current strengths.
