I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I am also a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. My therapeutic approach is integrative, multicultural focused, collaborative, and strength based. I like to meet people where they are at, utilizing evidence-based practices, and tailoring therapy to each individual with respect to their cultural backgrounds, and their intersecting identities that they bring into the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help people make changes that allow them to live and function at their highest potential.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will get to know each other by discussing my professional experience, and me gathering information about your experience. We will complete an assessment, which includes why are you seeking therapy at this time, address any questions or concerns you might have, what kind of therapy/therapist you are interested in, identify a diagnosis (if utilizing insurance), and identify therapy goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've been given consistent feedback that one of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe space for clients to feel seen, heard, respected and supported. Therapy is a relationship and I bring my authentic self into the relationship. I utilize my communication style of being relaxed, personable, open, humorous, cooperative, compassionate, and supportive to help clients feel comfortable.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize ACT in my practice to help clients focus and accept thoughts, feelings and the present moment so that they can actively work on healing and living a life that is fulfilling. I incorporate mindfulness exercises to help clients improve acceptance and focus on the present moment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients to see the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. During sessions I help clients to change problematic thoughts and behaviors that prevent them from living the life that they want.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize MI in sessions when clients are struggling with making difficult changes. I collaborate with clients and use open questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summary reflections to help enhance motivation of change for clients.

Psychodynamic

I use Psychodynamic therapy in sessions to help clients discover unconscious feelings and past experiences that prevent clients from living the life that they want. Together we will help you gain insight and healing so that you can start to have a different experience of yourself.

Narrative

I utilize Narrative Therapy to help clients separate themselves from their problems and destructive behaviors. Combined with a Solution Focused approach, I help client construct a new narrative that help clients make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a productive manner.
