Relationships are important. They can bring us joy, and connection, and opportunities to grow. You talk to friends and loved ones, you spend time with them, and you likely do caring things for them. And, how much time do you spend deepening your relationship with yourself? Do you pay attention to how you talk to yourself, how you spend time with yourself, how you care for your Self? It is my experience both personally and professionally that when we spend time working on our relationship with Self, not only do we become happier, and more peaceful internally- our external relationships with others improve as well. Would you like to work on your relationship with yourself? Let’s do it!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session we will work together to create an overall picture of who you are, where you have been, and where you would like to go in life. I'll get some background information, ask about symptoms of mental health concerns that you have, and explore what you hope to get out of therapy. You can also ask me about how I operate as a therapist, and be sure I am a good fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe one of my greatest strengths is that I am able to be fully present even in very difficult and uncomfortable sessions. I can support you in moving through and beyond your pain, because I won't shy away from the hard stuff. I have and continue to do my own therapy as a client so that I can be my best Self for our work together. Testimonials: “Barbara is one of the most remarkable therapists I have ever met. She is very caring and has an incredible insight to not only what a patient is going through, but what next steps will be the most helpful. I am blessed to have found her.” “I've been working with Barbara for six months. She is kind, thoughtful, supportive, and thought-provoking throughout this time. I feel safe and comfortable to be vulnerable and work through things with her. I feel very appreciative.”

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

The key concept of IFS is that each part of us has its own thoughts, feelings, and intentions. The therapy aims to help you understand and harmonize these internal parts, fostering self-awareness, healing, and a more integrated sense of self.

Jungian

Jungian therapy focuses on exploring the deep layers of the unconscious mind to promote personal growth and self-discovery.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a therapeutic approach that incorporates mindfulness and meditative practices to promote awareness and acceptance of the present moment.
