I am currently licensed in Georgia as well as Louisiana, with 17+ years of professional counseling experience. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self-esteem and confidence issues, & depression. I strongly believe that you are the expert of your story, and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. I have extensive training and experience in counseling, which has helped me achieve a broad perspective of the field of therapy. I can effectively apply a variety of interventions and choose from these interventions based on my assessment of a client’s learning needs, learning style, and personal characteristics. Starting therapy can feel intimidating and overwhelming. I will work with you at a pace that matches your comfort level and needs in a non-judgmental way to ensure that you feel safe and most important, heard!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). It explores the relationship between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. It focuses on identifying negative thoughts and replacing them with healthier ones. I examine my clients' thought patterns and identify negative belief systems that are causing negative feelings & behaviors. I promote positive thinking with expectations of positive outcomes.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

This approach may involve using various theories of psychology and types of therapy, specialized to a particular client and their circumstances. It is an integrative approach that aims to create a person-centered therapy plan. Instead of focusing on one treatment approach, eclecticism is a type of multi modal therapy that adheres to several theories (such as CBT) and ideas. I use different therapies to target one concern from various angles. I find that utilizing one therapy method seems repetitive after some time. This approach can increase engagement by teaching clients a new skill or idea each session and ensuring sessions evolve over time. Additionally, if a client's symptoms or concerns change, the method can also change.
