Hi. My name is Lucy. Does there seem to be a challenge everywhere you look? Are you struggling with stressors at work, at home, or within your extended relationships? Are you dealing with feelings of overwhelm or having intrusive, worrying thoughts? Do you find it challenging to simply be kind to yourself? Regardless of your situation, I am so glad you are taking the steps to find support, and I hope that, together, we can discover what’s not working and get you back to balance. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience working with clients in various areas. These include crisis intervention, hospitalization and grief counseling, child protective services, foster care, parent coaching, mental health support, and intensive in-home therapeutic services. I believe that all individuals have an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life manage relationships, explore personal challenges, and turn their inner critic into a compassionate and empowering force in their lives. Reaching out for help can be quite overwhelming and you have taken the first step by seeking a therapist. My goal is to provide a safe space for healing and growth. In our sessions, you can be assured that you will be met with compassion and evidenced-based techniques to overcome the obstacles holding you back.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into what has happened recently that brought you into the therapeutic space. I will ask questions regarding her history which will include your childhood, most impactful experiences, and the specific challenges you're facing today. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I will provide you with opportunity to ask any questions you may have of me and together we will decide the goals of care and the desired outcome of our time together.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Utilizing a positive theoretical framework, my approach includes a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic techniques. These include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused therapy. I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach that will build on your personal strengths. I provide the tools and resources to empower and strengthen your overall health and well-being. My therapy style is collaborative and supportive with treatment modalities that are tailored to fit your needs and aid you in meeting your goals. Additional skills I can teach include stress management, coping skills, self-compassion/positive self-talk, sleep hygiene, self-care, time management, self-esteem/confidence, setting boundaries, communication, and more.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in the fields of Social Work and Mental Health for 20+ years. One of the keys to my success is my ability to communicate effectively. Communication is the key to most successful relationships, and the therapeutic alliance is no different. Through active listening, patience, and understanding, and the nurturing of our therapeutic relationship, my clients feel comfortable opening up and empowered to make positive changes.
