Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am a certified grief & loss, mindfulness and trauma-informed practitioner. Awarded D.C.'s 2023 School Social Worker of The Year, I am truly passionate, dedicated and committed to empowering all people through a healing – centered, holistic, and proactive approach! I specialize in supporting youth and young adults in overcoming barriers to success ranging from anxiety, depression, self esteem, major life transitions, peer relationships, grief & loss, ADHD symptoms are more!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, build rapport, discuss what goals you have for yourself and what challenges you feel may be keeping you from obtaining those goals. We will discuss any resistance, hesitation or thoughts about going to therapy and work through those feelings. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider: *I treat everyone as an individual not as a problem to be fixed *I build authentic connections- were you feel seen, heard, supported and validated * I meet you where you are not where I think you should be *I make therapy fun but impactful for kids- it never feels like a punishment or consequence but their safe space to just be! *I get to the root cause and help you peel back the layers to healing not just surface level work!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most effective techniques in overcoming anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms and imposter syndrome. Working together in sessions we identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. Helping you to recognize irrational beliefs, getting to the root cause of maladaptive behaviors and replace them with more adaptive ones so that you can live as your highest, truest self.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Utilizing person-centered therapy, I work to create a safe space through showing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. Actively listening without judgment, allowing you to explore your thoughts, experiences and feelings. Through reflection, I support you in gaining self-awareness and encouraging personal growth, emphasizing autonomy and fostering a collaborative relationship for positive change and self-actualization.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT Therapy is used and highly effective with all ages in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This includes validating your experiences and feelings, teaching mindfulness practices to increase awareness of thoughts and emotions, providing psychoeducation about emotions and behaviors, and using behavior chain analysis to identify patterns and triggers.Supporting you in setting achievable goals and developing strategies to manage crisis effectively. The biggest part of DBT is the collaboration between you and I, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment conducive to growth and change.
