Hi, my name is Dawnn. Seeking therapy can be scary for many people, especially opening up to a complete stranger. The simple fact of sharing the struggles and trauma in your life, talking about your fears, and sharing personal aspects that have been locked away and hidden from yourself and those in your inner circle of support. I am here by your side to create a safe space free of judgement, and provide individual support for your emotional growth. My role as a clinician is to stand with you, to walk with you, to cry with you as we maneuver through this journey of recovery from the past fears, learning new coping skills and positive mechanism that will assist in rebuilding a life you find worth living to the fullest.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Psychotherapy is a process. For this process, to work in the client’s benefit the therapeutic relationship is a collaboration between the client and the clinician. I strongly hold belief of being authentic, providing a space of respect and dignity for all my clients. In this world, every person is a unique blessing. and we all can learn something from each other.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I incorporate multiple client-centered approaches within the constructs of session. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Self-Compassion and Mindfulness, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths is being authentic, I don't pretend to have all the answers but I will process with you to find what works for you in situations. I come from a strength based background, with the belief of being reality in goal settings and living life to the fullest.
