Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Indiana. I received by Master's degree from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2003 and received my licenses in 2009 and 2011 respectively. I have worked with a variety of clients in my nearly 20 years in the field ranging from children to adults and addressing many issues from depression to trauma and addictions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will discuss what you are wanting to achieve in therapy, pertinent background information, your goals and how I can help you achieve those goals. We will discuss what you need from a therapist to be successful. We will also address any stumbling blocks that have gotten in the way in the past and how I can help you overcome them. We will set small weekly goals that will help you to achieve larger ones over time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients and colleagues would say that my biggest strength is my compassion to help others. I believe that we as humans want to be healthy and live our best lives but sometimes life's curveballs can take us off course. I can help motivate you, support you and celebrate with you as you make necessary changes in your life. Sometimes we all need a supportive person, myself included, to help us be the best that we can be!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have been very effective in working with young adult to middle aged men and women, though the majority of my clients have been women. I work best with clients who have decided that they are ready to make changes in their lives to achieve success and are willing to take steps forward to create change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts and feelings have a huge impact on the way we perceive ourselves and the world. When we focus on shifting the way we look at situations and make adjustments we find ourselves growing in ways we never thought were possible. With nearly 20 years of experience as a therapist I have regularly used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients to make lasting changes in their lives. It is exciting for me to see people learn new skills and transform their lives.

Motivational Interviewing

Being able to identify your goals is the first step in change. Once you have decided to make changes we will walk the path together to create a plan for reaching your goals. Over the course of my career I have helped many people identify their goals and create plans for achieving them.

Compassion Focused

Sometimes we all just need a listening and supportive person to make us feel heard and to assist us in believing in ourselves. With compassion being one of my strongest characteristics, I can be that person for you.
