I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and couples and family therapist (MFT). I enjoy working with clients across a broad range of life experiences. My practice is generalist, with a specialty in trauma recovery work and supportive therapy for ethnic and social minorities (including LGBTQIA+ and large-bodied [fat] folks). I work with people to overcome challenges, and to heal from past emotional wounds, allowing them to live fuller and more satisfying lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other, and I will give you as much time as you need to talk about the concerns that brought you to therapy. After that, you can expect that I will listen with compassion as we work together to understand how to support you in overcoming whatever challenges you face. The quality of our relationship will be an important focus for me; it is the context in which we can build trust, an essential component to healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am very invested in my clients' experience and process in therapy, and I work to create a safe and supportive environment. I enjoy partnering with my clients in working to understand the landscape and nuances of their experience, and compassionately support them as they solve the riddles that interfere with overcoming the challenges that they face.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Relationships are the foundation for human survival. The quality of our attachment relationships (for example, with family members, romantic partners, and friends) significantly affect how we function in the world. Whatever concerns you bring into therapy, we will also be assessing the strength of your attachment relationships and thinking about your needs around past and present attachments.

Couples Counseling

I use the Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) model to support couples in resolving relationship conflict and working toward a more connected and satisfying relationship experience. I work with adults who participate in all safe, consensual relationship styles, including straight, LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, and kink-involved couples.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I enjoy working with people from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as members of marginalized communities such as LGBTQIA+, large-bodied (fat) communities, and other social communities.

EMDR

I am trained in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help people to heal from past traumatic experience.
