Hi! I am an Independently Licsensed Social Worker with a Supervisor (LISW-S) designation. I have been in practice for 8 years. Throughout that time I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens, young adults, adults, families, and couples. I have a specialized focus on youth and young adults. I have spent working as a psychiatric crisis clinician where I held a primary focus of helping individuals with suicidal ideation and self-harm. Additionally, I have experience working in providing individual and family therapy. I prefer my approach to be client centered as you know you the best. I do have an upbeat and outgoing personality. I do place an emphasis on rapport building. Your connection with your therapist is vital. If you don't have a good connection as the client, you may not find the true value and benefit of therapy. Always my goal is to help you reach your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, it may feel a bit like an interview. I will ask questions about self, family, school or career, mental health background, diagnoses, medications, what works and what doesn't, hobbies, etc. Then we will identify areas to focus on during future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've been told I am easy to connect with and empathic. Clients have told me I listen attentively and with purpose to better understand them. I like to focus on strengths and positive reframes (it's easy to get caught in the negative space). I meet clients where they are whether this is their first therapy experience or their 7th. I want to ensure I offer a safe space to focus on them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most commons therapeutic interventions. Using this method allows me to better understand client thought patterns and how they are connected to moods/feelings and behaviors. We can target problematic thoughts to increase moods and behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Utilizing ACT helps us take on a mindfullness approach. We work on staying focused in the present and learning to navigate accepting thoughts, feelings, situations, etc. without judgement. Here we get to focus primarily on healing versus the past.

Attachment-based

Attachment based therapy interventions focus on early childhood. Whether this is an adult who is wanting to learn more about why and how they connect and navigate relationships or a child who is sturggling with attachment based on various circumstances. This therapy can be used to focus on our relationships with others around us.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

While many therapist perform this type of treatment in-person, it can also be done through teletherapy where children can remain in their homes where they are likely to be the most comfortable. This type of intervention includes participation from children and parents with a heavy focus on parents to help manage their child's behavioral, emotional, and social needs.

Motivational Interviewing

We will use motivational interviewing to focus on necessary behavioral and emotional change. This is a client centered approach for exploring and managing change process.
