I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Georgia. I work with people who present with a broad range of problems and life issues. My clients often feel overburdened, stressed out and maybe even trapped. I specialize in helping people with relationships, life stress, and, of course, anxiety, depression, and addictive problems. Questions about parenting? I'm a facilitator of the Parenting with Love and Logic curriculum. I also work with life stage (particularly adolescent and young adult) and men's issues. Whether you are experiencing changes in mood, struggling with a particular situation, or having difficulties adjusting to a new life phase, therapy can often give you the skills to overcome these challenges. It is my goal to provide an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment that is supportive of your desire to make changes in your life. I would also like to invite you to reach out to me if you need help navigating the IEP/504 process for your student.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect us to learn about each other in an effort to help you decide if we are a good fit. This is about you and you need to feel comfortable moving forward with someone you believe you can trust and who can help you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have unique life experiences that equip me to provide my clients with a different perspective on their issues. I am able to help parents, individuals, couples and families navigate life challenges.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best able to serve people going through all phases of life.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy, also known as client-centered therapy or Rogerian therapy, is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy developed by psychologist Carl Rogers in the 1940s and 1950s. It's based on the belief that individuals have within themselves vast resources for self-understanding and for changing their self-concepts, attitudes, and behaviors in a positive direction.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on finding solutions to current problems rather than dwelling on past issues or exploring the root causes of those problems. Developed in the late 1970s by social workers Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, SFBT is based on the belief that clients possess the strengths and resources needed to enact positive change in their lives.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology that focuses on the study of positive emotions, strengths, virtues, and factors that contribute to human flourishing and well-being. Unlike traditional psychology, which often focused on treating mental illness and dysfunction, positive psychology seeks to understand and promote the positive aspects of human experience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used and highly effective therapeutic approach that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's based on the premise that our thoughts and perceptions influence our emotions and behaviors, and that by changing negative or distorted thinking patterns, we can alter how we feel and behave in response to various situations.
