Hello, my name is Darian Brinton and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe you have the answers to life's biggest challenges and questions. I have found that by providing a listening ear, and space for intentional self-reflection, everyone can make significant improvements in many areas of their lives. I have experience working with men, young adults and teens with a variety of mental health-related challenges and complex life circumstances including Men's Issues, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Divorce, and overall stress to name a few. My mission is to help you find mental clarity, clarification of values, and an increase in present awareness. My approach to working with clients is to be a guide, allowing you to uncover insights and self-discovery at your own pace. I utilize an eclectic approach utilizing modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Response Prevention to name a few. I assist in values exploration, mindfulness practices, and replacing faulty and unhelpful thoughts.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, we will work on brief introductions and begin exploring and navigating the specific problems you're facing. We will work on creating specific goals that will help direct your treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Authenticity and genuineness are key, so being honest and forthright is important to me. I want to be real and transparent with my client's, so they have clear expectations for change and growth.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic modality based out of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The approach helps clients learn to stop avoiding and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives. ACT adopts the view that there are valid alternatives to trying to change the way you think, and these include mindful behavior, attention to personal values, and commitment to action.
