I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over seven years’ experience in mental health counseling. Growing up with depression and anxiety, I was encouraged to bottle up my feelings and often felt judged, different, and dismissed. I became a mental health counselor because I want to support others who experience inner turmoil and need support systems to help them process feelings of despair, depression, or traumatic memories. I know firsthand that the work isn’t easy, so I will be right there with you as we work to address the negative experiences that hold you back.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. We will complete a bio-psycho-social history of your life up to now. I will provide information about the polyvagal theory and how it relates to your mental health. All of this will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am compassionate, insightful, and non-judgmental. I am willing to go deeper with you and help you identify strengths you can use to overcome adversity.

My treatment methods

Somatic

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I see how trauma gets "stucK" in the body and work with a person's autonomic nervous system to get them "unstuck".

EMDR

I am a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapist. I use bilateral movements in the body to address trauma and stuck thinking patterns.

Polyvagal Therapy

I utilize the polyvagal theory to see where a person's nervous system is working (social engagement, sympathetic, or immobilization).

Strength-Based

I believe every person has strengths to utilize to help in the therapy process.
