It is not easy to ask for help, but sometimes we have to admit what we are doing may not be working. If you are dealing with depression, grief, loss, anxiety, or trauma, my goal is to help you find what works. So that you can be the best version of yourself and start to live a happier life. My aim is to make therapy collaborative and comfortable. Because I understand the importance of talking to someone and not feeling judged or being criticized. Therapy is about healing, motivation, and empowerment. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults/seniors on an array of different issues. Depression and Anxiety are the most common diagnoses I see daily. I'm also passionate about helping individuals understand the relationships between their Adverse Childhood Experiences and current mental health needs. One of the most important things I learned from being a Social worker is that I may be a person's last stop for help. Therefore, I have dedicated myself to utilizing my skill sets for the best interest of my clients; so they feel individualized and supported through their journey. Please feel free to reach out.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I generally conduct a 15-minute consultation with potential clients, this will give you another opportunity to decide if I will be a good fit. I think building rapport is essential to the therapeutic process. In the initial first session, I will administer assessments to help determine your baseline. I usually use the PHQ-9 to detect and measure Depression and the GAD-7 to detect and measure Anxiety. This would also be the time for you to share your reason for seeking help. Then we will collaboratively create goals and a treatment plan to help you start feeling better.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The most common treatment modalities I've used with my clients are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered, Solution Focused, Emotional Focus Therapy, and Supportive Therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are building rapport with clients, showing empathy, and making my clients feel safe. I also enjoy helping clients who have depression start doing things they enjoyed before the depression and improving their sense of self-worth. A part of that is using Cognitive Restructuring with the use of CBT.
