Hi! My name is Ary’Anah Walker and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. I am a Board Certified - Telemental Health Provider. I have 3 years of experience working in office, school, telehealth and home settings. I work mainly with teens and young adults who have mental health disorders/issues such as anxiety, suicidal ideations, depression, trauma, grief, self confidence issues, self-harm, and ADHD. I also enjoy working with those who are transitioning to adulthood. I love providing my clients with a safe and nonjudgmental space for them to be themselves. My biggest goal is for my clients to know that they have someone there for them, someone who can help them with their struggles and provide them support. I want to help people find balance in their lives, and aid people in finding their true selves. I know taking the step to get counseling is not an easy one for all, and I hope to make your experience as comfortable as possible!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, it will be me mainly going over your intake paperwork with you and asking any clarifying questions I may have. I will also answer any of your questions. The way I run my sessions is sometimes you may have a lot to discuss, sometimes we may just talk about random things, and sometimes it will be a mix of both. My goal is for a client to leave their session getting what they needed that day from their session.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I enjoy using CBT and DBT the most in my sessions. I have many worksheets I can send to clients as well to help aid in their progress in counseling. I am always open to learning a new style of counseling and I adapt to my clients needs!
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I would say my biggest strengths are working with self-injurious clients, suicidal clients, and LGBTQ. I am really passionate about my work, especially when it comes to these areas. I have a significant amount of experience in these areas and I am always finding new tools and interventions to use for my clients.
