Hello and Welcome! Making the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage and personal compassion. I am so proud of you for getting started. You will be glad you did! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 14 years of professional work experience. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Fort Hays State University. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, depression, and gaining motivation to move forward from old belief systems and feelings of being trapped. I believe in treating everyone with respect, and personal focus. Let me aid you in understanding how past experiences and received messages correlate to current personal habits, beliefs, and processes. I am a caring, straightforward, non-judgmental therapist with keen, active listening skills and precision in finding root causes. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs for progress. Again, congratulations for taking the initiative to care for yourself! Please schedule your individual session soon.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I will ask you about your past experience with therapy and discuss your hopes and expectations. I will encourage you to share what you feel is the most pressing matter at hand and also what you believe has helped or not helped in the past. I will ask you thoughtful questions and will let you know a bit more about me and give you a chance to ask questions regarding therapy sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a warm, receptive and intuitive therapist with excellent active listening skills. I care about my clients and pay attention to detail. I will make deep, beneficial inquiries to provoke thought and to help you process your feelings and identify your underlying belief systems. My clients make progress especially when they are willing to accept truth.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am a nonjudgemental counselor who is adept in using Biblical counsel while allowing clients to process their experiences. I am very comfortable engaging in prayer and offering Christ-centered methodologies, if the client prefers.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy aiding clients in first identifying and then, understanding current belief systems and thought patterns. This practice allows clients to reframe, seek change and in due course, encounter progress.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

An awareness that culture reaches beyond race and ethnicity allows me to take a sensitive and curious approach; knowing clients are the experts of their own experiences.

Existential

Having an awareness that people desire to understand their purpose in this world, and have power to reach their determined goals is essential. Sometimes, it is just difficult for us to figure out the next steps.

Integrative

As needed, I feel confident with integrating different client-based methods of treatment into talk therapy sessions. This can include bibliotherapy, psychotherapy, somatic skills, use of homework and more.
