Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I hold a doctorate in counselor education and supervision (CES) and a master’s degree in professional counseling. I have been working in mental health for over 16 years as a counselor, educator, and supervisor in a broad range of settings including community-based clinics, non-profit organizations, and private practice. I have taught in master’s level courses, facilitated educational and professional development workshops, and presented at national conferences.
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy so that we can identify therapeutic goals. We will discuss ways to meet these goals to see if my approach and personality are a good fit for you. Time allowing, we might also do some psychoeducation. We will not spend much time reviewing your childhood nor will be directly talking about your traumas during your first session - my focus is on where you are now and how to move you forward.
I feel that I offer a fresh angle to therapy beyond the "How does that make you feel" approach. Using a combination of Adlerian, Feminist-Intersectional, and systems theoretical orientations, I take a direct, practical approach to assisting clients. Whether you are looking for skills to manage stress and related symptoms, support with assessing options in order to make important decisions, or you are ready to dive deep into change, I can help you to meet your goals.
