During the first session, client and therapist will build rapport and learn each other style. Client will get opportunities to ask any questions they might have to ease them into therapy. Client and therapist will explore rules and expectations of therapy. We will explore presenting problems and develop a plan for follow up.
I am huge advocate for using mindfulness practice in therapy. I like to guide clients through different mindfulness activity in session. I provide homework to build their practice of each mindfulness coping skills they learn. Some coping skills can be grounding techniques, breathing techniques, journaling, cognitive reframing, and many more. I also like to use a lot of attachment style discussion to help move conversation around interpersonal concerns.
During session we will explore your thought patterns and challenge anxious thoughts. Client learn new skills to reframe their thinking to more healthier thought.
Client and therapist will explore attachment therapy and discover clients attachment style. Client will work on making their style more secure.
Client will explore their childhood and understand how their earlier experience affect their present thoughts, emotions and behavior.
