The most important gift you can give someone is sincerely listening to them, which is where I always start. I have worked in community mental health for 20 + years all over Chicago, mainly on the South and West Side, where I am from. I provide people with whatever skills and strategies needed to help anyone get the most out of counseling.
The most important place to start is to listen to you and figure out what you hope to get out of counseling.
Through out my career I have worked in every setting you can think of, and every type of issue possible, but I love learning new things and coming across a situation I may not have dealt with before to continue to build on my skills as a clinician.
Exploring together, how thoughts can influence behavior is very important in being able to move towards what be influencing how we react in certain situations.
Figuring out what is most important and why will help us determine what you want to work on and how we can get there together.
