I have always felt drawn to a career in a helping profession, and this work brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. It’s truly inspiring to witness the growth and progress my clients achieve during our time together. My experience spans various clinical settings, including LA County contracts, IOP/PHP programs, Wraparound (DCFS), and more. I approach each client as a unique individual, tailoring treatment to their specific needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone deserves care that aligns with their personal experiences and perspectives, and I strive to provide that in my practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I approach each client with an open heart and mind, creating a space where you can feel safe to be your authentic self and share the most vulnerable aspects of your life. Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and explore how I can best support you on your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in the love and passion I bring to this work. I am deeply committed to continuous growth, engaging in clinical research, advanced training, and diversifying interventions to better support my clients. I also prioritize self-care to maintain my energy and presence, whether through running, spending time with my dogs and partner, or attending my own therapy. In a sense, my “grandtherapist” influences the work we do together, offering a legacy of guidance and insight that supports the space I hold for my clients—though not literally joining us in the room!

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process traumatic memories and reduce distressing symptoms associated with PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. In my practice, I guide clients through the eight-phase EMDR protocol, which includes history-taking, preparation, and bilateral stimulation to help clients access and reprocess distressing memories in a safe and supportive environment. By targeting negative beliefs and emotional responses tied to traumatic experiences, I assist clients in developing healthier perspectives and reducing their emotional intensity. I also incorporate grounding techniques and coping strategies to ensure clients feel stable throughout the process, making EMDR a powerful tool for fostering emotional healing and resilience.

Adlerian

In therapy, I may use Adlerian principles to help clients uncover how their early experiences, family dynamics, and personal values shape their current behaviors and beliefs. Through lifestyle assessments, I can explore patterns that contribute to feelings of inferiority or disconnection, helping clients reframe challenges as opportunities for growth. Encouraging clients to identify and pursue meaningful goals allows them to shift from problem-focused thinking to a more purpose-driven perspective. I may also foster a sense of belonging by emphasizing social interest, encouraging clients to engage with their community, and strengthening their relationships. By highlighting their strengths and promoting optimism, I aim to empower clients to build confidence and take proactive steps toward achieving their goals.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a transformative approach that helps clients understand and heal their internal “parts” while fostering a connection with their core Self. In my practice, IFS is particularly effective for addressing trauma, emotional dysregulation, and inner conflicts. I guide clients to identify and explore their protector parts (those guarding against pain) and exile parts (those carrying unresolved wounds), allowing them to develop compassion and understanding for these aspects of themselves. By helping clients access their Self—marked by qualities like curiosity, calm, and confidence—I support them in unburdening painful emotions and fostering integration and harmony within their internal system. This approach empowers clients to move forward with greater clarity and self-compassion.

Gender-affirming therapy

Gender-affirming therapy focuses on supporting clients in exploring and affirming their gender identity in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My approach involves validating each client’s unique experiences and addressing any distress related to gender dysphoria, societal stigma, or discrimination. I collaborate with clients to explore their identity, navigate relationships, and access resources, such as medical or social support, if desired. This work often includes psychoeducation, advocacy, and creating affirming environments to reduce shame and increase self-compassion. I aim to empower clients to live authentically and build resilience while respecting their autonomy and individual journey.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of trauma on an individual’s well-being. In my practice, I create a safe, supportive environment that fosters trust and empowerment. I approach clients with sensitivity to their trauma history, ensuring that therapy is collaborative and non-retraumatizing. By incorporating principles such as safety, choice, and cultural competence, I help clients build resilience and regain control over their lives. I integrate trauma-informed techniques into various therapeutic modalities, tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs while addressing the impact of trauma on their mental health and relationships.
