Hello! My name is Christina. I have been providing therapy professionally for about 9 years. Whatever you might be facing, I hope that I can help you gain control of your thoughts, actions and environment so you can feel better and reach the goals you have for yourself. In a session with me we will focus our time together on your needs and finding therapeutic approaches that best suit your personality and life. I spent most of counseling years working with women and couples. My specific training has centered around eating disorders, anxiety and depression. In school I studied Marriage and Family Therapy, which is an area of passion for me. Personally, I am a wife, mother and professional who knows firsthand how challenging it can be to manage "it all". If you are feeling hopeless, uncertain or lost in life, I hope you will reach out.
In our first session I will focus on getting to you know, answering your questions and exploring your world. The goal of our first session is to make sure we both feel that our professional connection is a good fit, that you feel comfortable and that we establish a plan and a goal for your treatment.
Clients most often communicate to me how I help them feel hopeful and make therapy relatable. I tend to find opportunities to highlight the strengths of my clients and show them how their thoughts and behaviors are rational, even though they maybe not serving them in the best ways possible. That is how CBT and DBT can help. These methods allow us to identify thoughts and behaviors that are creating challenges to success or happiness, source their rationale and recreate more helpful patterns.
I use several different aspects of this method to help clarify thinking patterns and bring confidence to your ability to cope and overcome any challenge.
For those who desire, I use Scripture, accountability, and prayer alongside the researched based methods.
I provide spiritual guidance from (Christian) Biblical perspective. To help build your faith in God and bring your thoughts, behaviors and beliefs into alignment.
I focus on what works well, what you are knowledgeable about, and the work you've put in to make it this far.
