Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of the Chicago suburbs. I have worked within this field for over 8 years and in numerous therapeutic roles at domestic violence shelters, inpatient mental health and substance use programs, medical hospital systems, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program (PHP/IOP), and jail diversion programs. I have spent most of my career and specialize in working with adult patients. I have helped many patients normalize and have compassion for themselves and their experiences, especially when having previously or presently lived with emotional or physical pain emanating from mood disorders, chronic healthy conditions and/or surviving domestic violence (DV)/interpersonal violence (IPV).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to have a conversation about what is bringing them to therapy and what they are hoping to get out of it. I want us to figure out if we feel like a match, and that might include a little bit of getting to know you and not just jumping right into what's bringing you to therapy. We need to feel comfortable with each other in order for the most progress to be made. If that's the case, then we'll move forward with identifying more specific goals to work on together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in numerous roles and organizations and I am therefore well-versed in the different types of supports and resources available to help someone because oftentimes talk therapy is best enhanced by further supports in our community. I also am a direct, though I consider myself to be compassionately direct: I find that there are times to sit and listen, and times to challenge. I feel that I have a good grasp on on when either of those are needed to best support the patient.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I commonly implement ACT to help address individuals' experiences with situations outside of their control such as living with chronic illnesses, living as a survivor of interpersonal violence or mood dysregulation prompted by external stressors.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I pair ongoing psychoeducation around how our internal and external experiences are influenced by the environments in which we find ourselves and the never-ending cycle of thoughts, emotions and behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I pull and educate on many concepts and coping skills from DBT to help individuals feel empowered to help themselves through distressing situations in their daily lives.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

It is my firm belief that everyone seeking help for themselves deserves to be treated with empathy and unconditional positive regard, and I use that to help build rapport and mutual respect/understanding so that the challenging of deeply, unhelpful perceptions can be better received.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach all clients with a sense of humility and a desire to both empower them and to help them feel safe and comfortable, especially when sharing vulnerable parts of their past and present. I encourage every client to move at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
