As a PTSD survivor and a bereaved mother, I understand both personally and professionally the connection between positive, validating support and the healing process. Building a rapport and therapeutic alliance is the most important part of all counseling relationships. I have extensive training and experience in the areas of trauma and grief techniques and I will use an emotionally safe, non judgmental approach to guide you on your journey towards healing.
In our first session, we will talk about what has and has not worked for you in therapy in the past. I want to be open to your experiences with therapy, and with you develop a plan that addresses all of your needs and concerns
I have years of experience with very different populations, including family systems, victims of violent crimes, grief and loss, and trauma and PTSD. I focus on building our rapport at first so you I can help create an environment where you feel safe. My greatest strengths, as I have been told by past clients, are my ability to be "real" with my clients, my use of humor, my shared personal experiences, and my years of experience in the field.
I use a self narrative therapy to help clients on their existential journey finding meaning in their experiences
As a therapist with 7 years experience of family based mental health as a therapist and a clinical supervisor, I understand the effect on how our family systems influence us as adults
