Welcome, I'm Jacqueline. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and have been practicing since 2014. I am happy that you are seeking services as that is a huge step towards taking care of yourself. My primary focus is to provide a supportive and safe environment for my clients to be able to express their feelings, and thoughts, and work towards their personal goals to enhance their wellbeing. I have experience working with diverse populations. I am Trauma-informed, CBT-informed, and Person-Centered. As a therapist, it is a privilege and an honor to witness your journey towards healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Within our first session, my priority will be to create a safe, non-judgmental environment, where you feel comfortable sharing your story, and what brought you to therapy. We will collaborate and work towards establishing your personal treatment goals. This session will lay the foundation for our therapeutic relationship and give you insight into what to expect moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In our work together I will provide support by creating a safe, calm, and non-judgmental space for you to process and work through issues that are impacting your life. Working with me you will find an empathic and compassionate therapist who is genuine and supportive. When working with me you can expect me to utilize multiple theoretical approaches to best suit your individual needs and collaboratively work towards your goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, coping skills, cultural stress, job stress, life transitions, trauma, sexual abuse, family conflict, racial identity, and LGBTQIA+-related challenges. Unfortunately at this time, due to not having appropriate tools, I am not able to support individuals who are struggling with personality disorders. With my approach as a therapist I believe the road to personal growth is within your hands, you are the driver of your car, and I look forward to being in the passenger seat and helping you get to your desired place in life. As a therapist, I utilize a collaborative person-centered approach to meet individuals where they are and support them in working toward their treatment goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find with the use of cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, it can be effective in helping clients reframe negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and by shifting perspectives; clients often gain new insights into their situations, which helps them manage stress, anxiety, and other emotions more effectively.

Motivational Interviewing

Utilizing interventions from Motivational Interviewing (MI) is such a powerful tool for helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change. It’s great for fostering a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to make their own decisions.

Gender-affirming therapy

I have extensive training and experience in specializing in gender-affirming care. Through this approach, I am attuned to the social factors that impact a person’s life. My goal is to help clients navigate barriers and challenges that may be hindering their progress toward achieving their goals. I center my work on respect, cultural awareness, and empathy, ensuring that every individual feels heard and valued. I strive to create a supportive, nurturing space for individuals to explore their identity and personal growth, while fostering self-love and acceptance.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I prioritize unconditional positive regard and client-centered care in my practice. Tailoring care to the unique needs of each individual is a fundamental aspect of my therapeutic approach.

Psychodynamic

Using interventions from Psychodynamic Therapy, I assist clients in understanding how unconscious feelings, thoughts, and past experiences shape their current behaviors and relationships.
