I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I received my Masters from the University of Pennsylvania and have been practicing for 7 years. As a therapist, I strive to foster a shame-free therapeutic space, that is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed. For folks struggling with eating disorders, I’m dedicated to promoting a Health at Every Size mindset, in an All Foods Fit context, encouraging an environment for you to begin radically challenging diet culture and weight bias. I hope no matter what brings you to therapy, that I can help you foster self-compassion and develop coping skills that build a sense of confidence and resilience.
I want to hear your story and understand how I can best support you through your healing journey. I want to hear about past therapy experiences, if you have them, and learn how we can work together to make sure you get what you need from this relationship. If this is your first time in therapy, I want to explore your expectations, and help you feel as safe as possible.
I have a wide range of training in many therapeutic approaches, and can tailor this process to meet your needs. As a queer identified, nonbinary person, I have an informed perspective about these identity experiences, and can hold a great deal of empathy and understanding for other members of the LGBTQ+ community, or for family and friends of LGBTQ+ people.
I have utilized attachment-based therapy within many different modalities, because in essence, my relationship with the people I'm working with is the most important part of the therapeutic process. As a therapist, I hope to create a safe and secure attachment base to allow for increased understanding of yourself and the other relationships in your life.
I worked as a therapist in a fully adherent DBT program, offering individual therapy and group skills coaching. In those two years in that position, I engaged in extensive training, and received clinical supervision to support my knowledge and application of this helpful treatment approach. I will incorporate DBT skills as needed throughout our time together, and can bring tools and homework into our work if we find it helpful.
As a nonbinary, gender fluid, queer person, I have both personal and professional experience with the process of self-exploration and living as your most authentic self. In supporting both clients and close friends, I have learned that we can experience both gender dysphoria and euphoria in many different ways. The goal is not to force the process, but allow it to unfold at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.
I completed an intensive training program to learn how to utilize Prolonged Exposure Therapy to assist clients in reducing the intensity of the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is an impactful and enlightening treatment approach, that I've had the privilege of offering to numerous clients since my training. This modality is structured, and can be challenging, but overall has been very successful in improving the quality of life for folks that have completed the treatment.
