I am a licensed clinical social worker working in a private practice in Chattanooga, TN. I work with individuals who are struggling with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I also work with adolescents and adults coping with anxiety, depression, bipolar, addiction, communication skills, trauma, grief & loss, body image, self-esteem, self harm, suicidality, and severe mental illness. I have completed the 2 day PSI Certificate Course as well as the Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Course. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness skills, as I offer genuine care, support and empowerment to my clients.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, I'll gather some background information as well as explore current challenges you are facing. This is will help me gain insight as how to best help you.
During my 10 years of working in diverse areas of mental health, I have learned that everyone has their own "stuff," and work with my clients as they learn to move through (rather than get over) life stressors and challenges.
By using ACT, I help clients focus on forgiving/accepting past behaviors/choices and committing themselves do different behaviors/choices.
By using CBT, I help clients explore their values and how they can best live their values. I also help clients reframe their thinking patterns through their behaviors.
By using Solution Focused Brief Treatment, I help clients find quick, practical, and helpful solutions for whatever it is they may be struggling with at the time.
By using Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I help clients become more intentional with their thoughts, words, and behaviors. I also help clients find awareness with their emotions as well as physical body.
By using Strength-Based, I help clients focus on their strengths in what they have overcome was well as what they are currently trying to overcome.
