The journey of healing begins with a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and mutual respect. My worldview and core values determine my approach to therapy and engaging with you. I strongly believe in a holistic approach to therapy: I consider the art and science of healing to support the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. I have decades of rich and varied life experiences which inform my practice. I have worked in schools with children as an educator with a great understanding of human development, I am a grass-roots level community development social worker and a mental health clinician in community behavioral health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will start with getting to know each other, so as to built a strong therapeutic relationship. Then go onto identifying the presenting problem/what has made you seek therapy. We will then list all of your strengths that will help you in the process of healing. We will dive into identifying a few coping skills that you can use in-between sessions to help with the symptoms.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am known to be a compassionate and empathetic person. I look forward to exploring how I maybe able to help you reach your goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We are thinking, feeling and doing beings. These three are intricately connected. Understanding our thoughts helps us understand behaviors exhibited and the associated feelings. Thsi can be used in therapy very effectively to change one's thinking and behavior patterns.

EMDR

I have used this mostly with past trauma reprocessing. Past traumas cannot be erased completely, they can be processed and put to rest. EMDR has been very effective in this process.

Strength-Based

I believe that each individual has innate strengths and we have to learn to tap into this strength to heal ourselves.
