I help clients find meaningful and lasting healing through reconnection with the mind, body and and soul so that they can live an embodied life. My name is Atara and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in clients looking to work on developing a deeper understanding between the mind and body connection. I use somatic approaches in my work such as because holistic healing does not just happen in the mind. I love to support clients in creating a sustainable vision. The goal in my work is to empower clients on gaining clarity to obtain holistic balance in mind, body, and soul. I believe that a strong therapeutic connection is vital and progress can be limited when a client doesn’t feel understood. My aim is to align with my clients so that they can feel understood and seen but also unravel the beliefs that no longer serve them.
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you into this space, dive into some background and history as well as collaborate on goals you wish to set for our time together. We will begin building safety in connection and understanding so that the isolation you have felt is not longer a suppressor.
I have great success with supporting clients overcome depression and anxiety symptoms by utilizing lifestyle shifts, nutrition, supplementation and mindfulness. When the mind is supported it can allow the body to heal and vise versa. It’s so powerful to watch clients cease their struggles with chronic illness and find freedom again. One of my favorite populations to work with are moms. Burnt out, exhausted, and stressed? I’d love to help you cope and heal your body, especially in the postpartum stages. Motherhood does not have to be a marathon of trials. Lastly, I utilize somatic techniques that engage the brain and nervous system in a different way than talk therapy. In my opinion, having the body support the healing mind is essential.
Existential therapy is a focus on the human condition and the driving questions we often wrestle with such as: Who am I? What is my purpose? What gives my life meaning? I use these questions as guideposts in my work while incorporating practical skills and body work.
