Things to expect for the first session would be a general intake assessment where I ask questions about client's back ground, and reason for attending therapy as well as family back ground. During this session I would gather information to better meet client's needs, goals and what they would like to gain from attending therapy to help them move forward and meet their goals and needs.
I am trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness and meditation.
I started working with severe mental illness and specialize working with people who have experienced trauma. My biggest strengths are in assisting client's to stabilize emotionally and overcome their trauma experiences in order to not feel that the traumatic experience takes over their life.
