Hi! I am a clinical social worker (LCSW-C) based in Maryland. I received my MSW from Adelphi University in NY and I have been a practicing therapist for 9 years in Maryland. I help adults process life transitions, complex trauma, and difficult relationships to develop self-understanding and new ways of coping with the challenges that life can throw at us.
In our first session, we will discuss background information, establish therapy goals and work together to create a safe space for self-exploration.
As a first-generation American and an IPV survivor, my lived experiences have shaped my therapeutic approach. I possess an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals from immigrant backgrounds, including cultural complexities and the pressure to succeed. Having personally navigated the trauma of intimate partner violence, my therapeutic approach is rooted in fostering resilience and empowerment.
Explore how previous life experiences can impact decision making and mindset in the present moment. The focus is increasing self-awareness and self-understanding. We will develop skills to make good choices in the long term.
Explore the connection between our thoughts (cognitions), behavior and emotions. Learn how to slow this process down to manage symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety.
I have experience working with people through extremely difficult traumatic life experiences including intimate partner violence, grief, racial trauma and more. We will talk about what you have experienced and what healing can look like.
