Deane Henryson is the author of the self-help book, Be Yourself (at Amazon.com); and the creator of the popular app, TIC-Therapy AI Coping (at Google play). With over 26 years of clinical experience, he has worked with most psychological dilemmas and the steps to overcome them. He has spent an extended amount of time understanding fears and depression, with endless hours writing horror novels.
The first session is usually about me learning about your particular situation so I can help best. This process can help the client see things in a new light. We both also are learning to trust one another, building a positive relationship which can be used to help identify and reach your goals.
For 15 years, I was grounded at a prominent mental health agency in the community that required regular clinical supervision, frequent trainings, and accountability. Clients also had a varied presentation of symptoms to keep me learning and growing with them.
I love working with artistic/creative people, as creativity has been my own passion throughout my life. Often people struggling with emotional difficulties are more creative, with minds that have created more emotional struggles to overcome. I enjoy helping people with most other psychological dilemmas, always having a variety of client struggles on my caseload which continues to inspire my own creativity in sessions.
Being trained in these methods, I use them through identifying negative thought patterns with the client that are unhelpful in order to improve positive self-talk that is more helpful.
