Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas. I graduated with a MSW from Tarleton State University in 2020. I have been working in mental health for over 7 years, and have been providing mental health therapy for over 3 years. I help clients ages 13 years and older with improving their mental health using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I like to empower my clients and focus on their strengths to help them overcome challenges and past trauma.
In our first session, we will start with brief introductions, and the complete a biopsychosocial assessment where I will ask about your reasons for wanting therapy, symptoms, treatment history, questions about your life. I will ask you to share information you think I should know that will provide insight to your specific needs and challenges.
I am skilled at engaging with clients with a focus on trust and rapport. My primary focus will be making sure you feel comfortable and supported.
I enjoy helping clients who are experiencing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, and depression. My clients struggle with managing current life stressors and want to learn coping skills to help improve symptoms. They often feel overwhelmed and anxious about life and are open to completing homework, practicing skills learned in sessions, and prioritizing self-care to manage symptoms.
I have been using CBT for 3 years working with clients to help them learn about how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other.
I have been helping clients heal from trauma using EMDR for over a year. EMDR is an evidenced based practice which uses bilateral stimulation (eye movement) while focusing on a memory with the intention of changing the way the memory is stored in the brain. It can be helpful for healing from trauma.
