I am Grace! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since October 2023, but I have been in outpatient counseling for the past 3.5 years. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, bit I have the most experience with teens and adolescents. I enjoy working with younger adults, as well. I use a variety of therapy methods during sessions. It depends on the client and their needs what therapy types would work.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is usually the intake session, and we review many of the aspects of your life currently and in the past. The first session is a lot of questions, but it helps me start to form a therapeutic bond and to build the therapeutic relationship. I leave some time for patient to talk freely about anything else that was not part of the initial intake questions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to talk with most anyone, and I an able to understand how people might feel even if I do not experience it myself. I have unique and fun activities to help people feel more comfortable talking about difficult things. I am able to use my judgment to see where people are I'm their mental health journey to assess what therapies might work better for them.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I have worked providing outpatient therapy to children and families for the past 3.5 years full time. I have experience working in mobile therapy with children in my internship with graduate school.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used this as a main treatment option over the past 3.5 years with teens and adults.

Family Therapy

I have worked with families as part of my outpatient counseling career. The child is generally the identified client. Much of my work had been with the parents and siblings of the children, as well.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have used this therapy to help patients relate to behaviors to certain things that have happened to them and the roles they play in a family system.

Strength-Based

I have used a lot of empowerment based strategies to help patients build on their strengths to improve their overall quality of life.
