During our first session, we will take a little time to become familiar with each other and I will ask you about what your goals are for therapy.
I have experience with addiction in juveniles as well as adults. I seek to help the client identify and build on his/her current strengths and abilities.
I feel that it is important to understand how one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are related to one another.
By using motivational interviewing, I allow the client to remain the expert on him/herself and gently guide the therapy to help the client meet his/her goals.
The client is always the expert on him/herself. By utilizing person-centered therapy, it allows the client to stay in control, as well as identifying and strengthening skills that the client already has.
