I have worked for years as a clinician in an acute, inpatient psychiatric setting and have learned that I find working with trauma and stress related issues to be particularly rewarding in addition to working with clients to help manage mood, anxiety, OCD and depression so that individuals, couples and families can live an optimally functioning life. I believe clients are the experts on themselves and I work collaboratively to identify and implement strengths, needs and changes (as well as acceptance when change is not possible).
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing including obtaining psychosocial information. This will help to create a unique treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with all ages and populations, including individuals in acute psychiatric crisis using DBT informed and CBT informed interventions has provided me with a wide range of experience and confidence in my modality and methods when working with clients. I’ve learned that collaboration is key and I’ve seen success when it seemed impossible. We’re all pretty uniquely equipped when we have the right tools and support to explore ourselves and our environments.
I use a DBT informed approach incorporating mindfulness, skill acquisition and various other CBT informed worksheets and homework methods to help build more beneficial behaviors and routines to replace harmful or ineffective ones.
