My biggest strength is the ability to focus on building a therapeutic bond by creating an environment of safety, support, empathy and trust. My area of focus is helping children, adolescents and adults with a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, work/school stress, life transitions, impulse control, personal growth/self-esteem, and other mental health challenges.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy model for clients who are experiencing clinically significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events they have experienced. I use TF-CBT to support clients in exploring negative effects of trauma, processing traumatic memories, and learning effective coping and interpersonal skills in order to overcome trauma symptoms and begin to separate from the traumatic memory.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people manage problems by changing the way they think and behave. I use CBT to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors in order to improve their functioning and quality of life. I support clients in challenging and replacing their negative thoughts with more positive and helpful thoughts.
Person-centered is a type of psychotherapy that is client-centered and supportive in the client's self-discovery. I use person-centered therapy to support clients with compassion, non-judgment, active listening and empathetic understanding.
Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is a framework based on the understanding of how trauma affects people. I provide trauma informed care to help clients understand trauma, how trauma affects them and paths for recovery.
