Welcome! I am Kimberly. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience providing therapy. Many of us desire a sense of peace, connection, and well-being within ourselves and in our life. Yet life circumstances and even parts of ourselves can prevent us from having these experiences in our day to day lives. Providing a safe and non-judgmental place to explore your struggles and emotional pain is essential to my practice. I feel grateful to be able to support those who desire to grow and heal.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will ask questions to learn a bit about your history and current life situation. We will also discuss why are you seeking therapy at this time and how I can be of help to you to reach your therapeutic goals. I will continue to ask questions during sessions, but after the intake it is the client's responsibility to come to sessions with something (or several things) to discuss/process during sessions and not rely on the therapist to tell the client what to discuss. Keeping a list of things that come up during the week can help a client to remember what they want to focus on during sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ideal client wants to actively engage in therapy and learn effective mind skills to evolve and thrive. Perspective is everything! And when you embrace a mind set that works for you, you will feel motivated, renewed, and confident that you can manage your thoughts/feelings and live your best life. I am a general practitioner providing therapy to folks with various challenges, including addictions, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and grief/loss.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I encourage client's to consider this approach to managing anxiety, depression, or any other symptoms/feelings/cognitions that they are having difficulty managing/decreasing. Instead of fighting it, accept it, and live your best day anyway.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is the basis of almost any form of therapy. It all starts in our mind with our thoughts. Our thoughts create feelings which then impact our behaviors. If we can learn to be mindful of where our thoughts are, we can change our reality, our feelings, our moods in that moment. Learning how to manage our thoughts really is life changing.
